There have been some requests for documentation on my new curly hair; since I am vain... I will comply.
Jake helped me with my photo shoot.

I Will Survive....Hey Hey!
For as long as I can remember, my mother has been running. She is this skinny little petite woman with legs. She's done races throughout her life and just finished her first triathlon...GO MOM!
Since she loves to run she has tried to get me to share in the passion....to no avail. I hate running. For those who run; why do you do something that makes your body hurt? It just doesn't feel good to me and never has. I haven't lasted 2 weeks in a running workout. Sorry mom it just workes better for people like you.
Then I get married and low and behold, my mother-in-law....a runner. She is built much the same as my mom, skinny little petite, with strength. She has done multiple races including the Boston Marathon this year...GO MOM-IN-LAW.
With both sides invested in running, it was inevitable; I began another attempt at running. To be honest, I never really trained nor did a get to a vigorous workout routine but for whatever reason, and I still don't really have one; I signed up for the BolderBoulder 10k in Colorado. GO ME!
What do you know, I finished. I finished faster than I thought I would. For me, 12 min. miles are stellar. The legacy continues

Sur-ock @ the Daines Home
So last night was the big final-e of American Idol. This was my first season experience and I actually really like the show. After David Cook was announced as the Idol for Season 7, my husband was surprised and I was shocked thus we were sur-ocked. Now, it wasn't a bad thing. Cook is not a bad choice and he has had a few songs that I have like; (Billie Jean, Eleanor Rigby) hmm...girl songs.... anyway, but he hasn't been my pick. Archuleta has been my vote since day one. He totally has a better voice and he's so funny in front of the camera; just a cute little boy. I always thought Cook seemed a bit arrogant but at the same time a nice enough guy. My husband likes him better and has since the beginning but he did think that Archuleta was going to win. 12 million votes....kinda sounds like a lot but the 56% to 44% doesn't. Anyway, needless to say we were not expecting the outcome of last night's Idol results. However, I'm ok with it. Archuleta will get a great contract and I'll buy his CD.

Women's Conference 2008
Ok, so every year for the past three years, my mother and I have gone to BYU Women's Conference. Each year we pick up more people to go with. My grandma, aunts, cousins, etc. It is something I look forward to all year and am excited for many more traditions of annual Women's conference. Like my mom, I love to do the humanitarian aid projects while listening to the classes. This year I completed 2 baby blankets and 1 1/2 loomed hats. I feel so homemaker-like. Another favorite is seeing the mass herds of women gathered all across campus, each filled with excitement over their latest spiritual feeding. For me, it doesn't matter what the class is on or who is speaking, there is always something that the spirit can and does teach. I learn how to be a better wife, neighbor, daughter, friend; person. Sheri Dew spoke at our Friday morning session and it was a phenomenal and extremely touching talk. She encouraged women of the church to be different, that we have a sacred duty to set the example. An example that helps women to shed forth their light and knowledge to the world. She asked, "We should be far more distinctive than even the very finest women in the world. Are we?"
The spirit that can be felt at the conference is so very strong. For those who have never attended, I encourage you to look into it for 2009. Go to http://ce.byu.edu/cw/womensconference

Back to Zoobieville
It's true, we are once again in BYU territory. David and I went for a week to visit my family and his brother's family. Then after, we packed the car and drove to Utah. We are just about moved in and I am so excited to see some of my friends that I will have to leave behind in June. While here, David will finish his last term and finally receive his Bachelors. I will get things ready for our new home, make sure everything is in order and work a few hours at the good 'ole P.F.
Isn't it great to visit family
