This is random, but I just met the author of an Ebook about getting your baby to sleep and since you need some, I thought I would give you the link. Her website is www.sleepbabysleep.com
I read the book and really really liked it! It was way better than the many (I think I have read 6 now, yikes!) other sleep books I read. Very doable, and not overboard in any area (some books just make you feel like you are doing it wrong, but this one totally doesn't). Honestly the way she put it just made it sound like common sense and working with your instincts. She is incredibly loving while also very empowering, making you feel like you can have it all. I wish I would have read it when Lucy was younger.
Oh Mal, this totally speaks to me. I remember feeling this same way like something better change fast or I will literally become a zombie. If it's any consolation, you looked absolutely gorgeous when I saw you. It will get better.
When I decided to put Jordyn in her crib I started by having her take ALL of her naps in there for a week. This got her used to being in there and comfortable. Then I tried it at night. Jordyn was different in the fact that she NEVER slept good when she was in our room. It was like she could sense I was there. I would just start trying that. If he starts to cry let him cry for 5-10 minutes, go in and calm him down without picking him up, then walk out! Repeat this process until he falls asleep. It will be a hard couple days but I bet he will be fine after three days! Let me know how it works!
Oh yeah I forgot to tell you that he is probably used to your smell so you could put one of your garment tops in his crib with him or spray his sheet with your perfume! It is a little drastic but whatever works right?!!? I promise it will get better and you will be so happy when you move him!
I read that book too and I have GREAT sleeping kids! Jordyn sleeps from about 9 until 8 and Tessa sleeps from 10 until 6 or 7...and she's only 4 months old. Good luck! Oh, and it's okay to tell the hubby that he gets a turn once in a while. I know that they work during the day, but so do you!!
I know that everyone has their opinion, but mine is a book called Being Baby Wise. It helps the babies figure out the difference between day and night. I love it, although it doesn't work for every baby. Hope this helps.

Oh and the best book I read was Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child, it's really realistic and informative.
