This was the week...the week Carson was 'kicked' out of our bed.
For any of you moms who have let your baby sleep in your bed longer than the first weeks of life, know that this can be difficult. It's funny because its not that he doesn't sleep any where else, its that I know he sleeps there so I'm afraid to try elsewhere. He has been taking all his naps and nighttime sleeping in our bed. Silly mommy. I also created an 'absolutly no sound what-so-ever while being put to sleep' baby. I didn't really do it on purpose but I never got around to making white noise so everything and everyone has to be completly silent while he is falling asleep--no small feat! I'm talking SILENT! I can't even cough while putting him to sleep (yes I put him to sleep. No crying it out for me, I just can't take it) But it works for me...most of the time. However, if in the process a sudden sound is made....so help the culprit!!! The cycle starts all over again. It's ok if it's an ongoing noise like the dryer. So, as long as its not interupted sounds; I don't mind rocking him to sleep...it's not that bad. Anyway, here is my week recap:
Monday
All of his naps were taken in his bassinett which is next to my bed. Each nap was 1 hour no more, no less and he took 5 naps total. That night was hell. He went down at 9:30pm after being interupted so it took me an hour to get him to sleep. (in our bed) 12:40am-awake and ate. 2:00am-awake and ate. 3:00am-awake. 5:30am-awake and ate. 7:00am-awake and ate.
Tuesday
Even though I was totally exhausted...we kept to the plan and all his naps were in his either in his bassinett or some even in his crib in his room. He only took 3 naps though and so by night time I was done. He started at 9:30pm in his bassinett. Woke up at 1:00am-ate. 3:00am-awake and ate. 5:30am-awake and ate (now in our bed). 8:00am-awake and ate
Wednesday
All of his naps were in his room in his crib except the evening one. He slept for 1 1/2 one nap and an hour for 3 others. Went down in his bassinett at 9:30pm. Woke up at 12:30am, 3:00am, 5:00am, (now in our bed) & 8:00am. He ate every time.
Thursday
Pretty much the same as Wednesday except some naps were in his bassinett.
Friday
All naps were in his bassinett but one. He took 4 naps each an hour but one was 2! Went down at 10:30pm in his bassinett. Up at 3:40am-ate. Up at 7am-ate (now in our bed). Up at 8am-did not want to eat.
Now it's Saturday morning and he's down for his first nap (right on schedule) and in his bassinett. Pretty good week I'd say...at least it's improving. He only sleeps in our bed for his early morning shift.--when mom is way too tired to care :)
The one crappy CRAPPY thing is.... he has a very difficult time sleeping in his crib. Why you ask. Shelby. Our stupid dog barks and since Carson's room faces the backyard...it's all you hear. It totally wakes him up. I've learned to have the humidifier and bathroom fan by his room on. Sometimes even the dryer which is next to his room too. It's like the house is 'talking' throughout his entire nap. WAY too much noise for nighttime sleeping for Dad and Mom so we have to come up with a solution.
Anyone want a dog?

Oh Mal, I totally feel for ya! I have been through all of that. It definitely is tough. Keep praying that is all that got me through it! I promise it will get better just keep being consistant. One thing that might help with night sleep is to have a set bedtime and routine. I have read in many books that the best time to put babies down is between 6 and 8! It may sound early but ever since we started putting Jordyn down at 7 she has slept MUCH better!
I'm so proud of you for "kicking" carson out of your bed, in my opinion he would have been out a LONG time ago, oh well live and learn right? I'm sorry about all the waking up in the night, that is horrible! No dogs for me thanks, but you really should think about getting rid of her. Instead of the bassinet you should just go straight to the crib. Don't worry I hope it gets better, it has to right?:)
Oh wow! That sounds like a lot of work. i guess I'm just blessed to have great sleepers. I will tell you that letting them go down by themself is hard at first buy way better in the end. You just have to give it time. Oh, and we have this great CD with music and it really helps both of our girls.
