HaPpY HaLLoWeEn

It's here! In about a half hour, I am sure my doorbell will ring and little trick-or-treaters will be in front asking for candy. So cute! I'm excited for next year when my little boy will be able to dress up and look cute too. I've had fun carving pumpkins this year. When I was in with my family I carved 2 pumpkins with my siblings and then here, I helped carve 3 pumpkins at my in-laws. And yet....none are sitting in front of my porch. Oh well, kinda funny. Hopefully I'll get pictures from my family and I can show them off. Well, Hope everyone has a great Halloween!

Another Adventure Starts....

Tomorrow I leave to see family. I am EXCITED! I love being with my family. First off, I have the best parents ever! And then, to have the coolest brothers and sister! Ahhh, the life. We have so much fun too. David is coming out later in the week so I will miss him for the first little bit. Check back in awhile...I'm sure there will be pictures and stories! We are going camping, football games, and Halloween preparations.

I'm an Esme...anyone shocked?

So, since Kellie had this on her blog and....it was later at night when I'm bored; I did this. I am not surprised that I am Esme. I can't imagine being anything but homely, motherly, and sensitive. Ha, I think I was hoping for Alice though. Not sure why.

I'm a Esme! I found out through TwilightersAnonymous.com. Which Twilight Female Are You? Take the quiz and find out!

Desserts everyone should be making

So, I wait and wait for it to finally be October 1st so that I can make my favorite desserts. I wanted to pass along these recipes so that everyone could enjoy. I must admit that neither one is my own. I borrowed both so I don't get the credit.

Pumpkin Spice Cookies

1 small can pumpkin mix
1 pkg spice cake mix
chocolate chips

Mix all ingredients (add chocolate chips as you desire). Bake at 350 for 15 min or til tops are brown. Seriously easy.

Pumpkin Bars

4 eggs
2 C. sugar
1 C. veg. oil
1 16oz can pumpkin (NOT the seasoned pie filling)
2 C. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 ½ tsp. vanilla
Chocolate Chips (optional)

Preheat oven to 350. Beat eggs, sugar, & oil. Add pumpkin and mix. Add dry ingredients & Mix. Grease & Flour Costco size Cookie Sheet. Pour batter onto cookie sheet. Bake for about 20 minutes. Cool & Frost.

Frosting
1 cube margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. powdered sugar
1 8oz. cube of cream cheese

Mix margarine, cream cheese & vanilla until smooth and creamy. Add powdered sugar, blend until smooth.

For the record, I enjoy the bars much more without chocolate chips. To me it brings out the pumpkin flavor but most of the family likes them with. Also, if you are not a pumpkin pie eater....DO NOT let these recipes scare you. They are nothing like the pie. ENJOY!!!

Weekend Fun

This weekend was so much fun. On Friday I drove down to St. George to see my mother-in-law run the marathon. We woke up Saturday morning to rain, rain, and more rain. It was about 50 degrees most of the day...odd for St. George. The race began at 6:45am and she finished around ten. 3 hours and 31 min was her time...go mom!!! I am totally inspired by her. After, we biked home in the rain back to our B&B and snuggled into bed to watch conference.

I love love love General Conference. I am so sad when it's over and get excited for 6 months to pass. This year I was away from David because he couldn't get time off work to come down to Utah. I missed him lots. I did however get to spend some great time with my sister-in-law Mindy. She is at BYU and so I miss seeing her around. We had late nights of talking and laughing and watching conference together. I had way too many favorites to mention but the message was clear. We as members still need to give more, have more faith & hope, give more charity. I hope that I can continue to reference these talks in the next few months and heed the counsel given.

We ended up driving up to Provo on Sunday night and I got to see my brother Hansen. He is so cool. I mean he is the best big brother a girl could ask for. He loves me and he tells me...so cool. I did however blow it for him....let me explain. Hansen has said from the beginning that he didn't want to know what we are having. He wanted it to be a surprise. I made sure everyone in the family knew not to tell him if it was a boy or girl, even talking to him in the last few weeks, I've still said "it" or "the baby". Well, one of the first things I say to him when I saw him was; 'The baby is kicking so much. I'll let you feel him if he does, he's such a little stinker' ahhh... I didn't even realize I said it until he told me I blew it for him. Oh well, after all that, and I tell him.

The driving wasn't much fun. Pregnant women are not comfortable as is...10 hours in the car; not helping. But everything else was totally worth the drive. Being with family is great.

I'm excited for this month. Weekend fun every time. This week it's Jacob's baptism and all the Daines' are coming. Next week (and the week after) it's vacation with my family! I can't wait to see them! And then...it's Halloween which to me is the beginning of the holiday season.
